Incentives for Physicians
The relocation incentive to family physicians moving to practice in rural New Brunswick is $100,000.

In addition, top-up incentives are available from Horizon Health Network and funded by the Sackville Memorial Hospital Foundation. This funding helps to make southeast New Brunswick competitive with neighbouring provinces.
Scholarships for Medical Students
Medical scholarships in New Brunswick are awarded by the New Brunswick Medical Education Foundation. Five scholarships, which require the recipients to work in the Tantramar region for at least one year, were recently awarded for the 2025/26 school year. They are funded by:

The Municipality of Tantramar funds the “Tantramar Medical Education Scholarship” for $5,000.

The Sackville Memorial Hospital Foundation (SMHF) funds the “Future Physicians of Tantramar Medical Education Scholarship.” This substantial scholarship awarded to a second-year student, renewable year to year, requiring the recipient to work one year in Tantramar for each year of the scholarship.

SMHF also funds two substantial scholarships awarded to third-year students,

A fourth scholarship funded by SMHF was awarded to a fourth-year student and requires the recipient to work in Tantramar for two years.
